I have a six year-old boy who has managed to conquer all of the other lego sets without too much trouble. He hit a wall with this one - specifically the moving gears in the back that move the tail surfaces up and down. We boxed it and set it aside for next year.
Fun, but kind of fragile December 24, 2007
This toy is a big hit with my seven-year-old. It shoots rockets, drops bombs and comes with four stormtroopers. But one of the biggest problems with it is how fragile it is. The top flight fin keeps coming off, along with the cockpit, and the sidedoors you raise to put anything in or out, or to shoot the rockets, keeps coming off. I'm considering glue in places. The cockpit was braced with a few older legos we had in our collection.
Other than that, this is a great toy. Overall I would recommend it, but make sure your child won't play with it too rough. If they do, either you or the child will spend time putting it back together.

I'm quoting my son who says the Imperial Landing Craft is a great set even though there were set-backs while putting it together. Some parts had trouble staying in place and whole sections would drop off as he was working, particularly the top wing and side compartments, though he is an experienced Lego builder. That said, he loves the features. Moving parts work smoothly. The mini-figs are a nice addition to his collection. And now that it's together, it seems fairly durable. He agrees with the other reviewer--go out and buy it!

I think the toy is fairly magnificent. I had much fun building it. It comes with likable features, like an enormous troop compartment, movable wings, a firing missile, a pilot's "control center",bombs, and 5 Imperial cronies- 1 pilot and 4 stormtroopers(actually two are sandtroopers). The only problem is that it is so gigantic and awkward that it is somewhat hard to carry.
I believe this toy is very educational. It will make you have excellent mental durability, as well as the ability to arrange and create.
The overall sturdiness of the piece was good. Except for some minor annoyances(especially in the troop compartment), the piece was fairly durable.
My ideology is that this toy is always worth a try. Even though its expensive(49.99!), you should buy it.
OK set for kids but not really mini-fig scale June 10, 2007

This set is OK if you just like Star Wars legos to play with but if you are concerned about the scale of lego starships and how they match up to others in your collection this might not meet your needs. It is the same size as earlier Imperial Shuttle (which is it similar to) but the Star Wars encylopedia states that an Imperial Landing Craft is large enough to carry 54 stormtroopers and has a crew of 5. This one could possibly carry maybe 3 more stormtroopers than the 4 they give you and has one pilot. I know, I know, if they wanted to be correct the kit would be bigger than the new lego M-Falcon and would cost $800 but all I am saying is that it isn't in correct mini-fig scale. On the other hand it's not as out-of-scale as the Lego Star Destroyer (the newer one, not the UCS set) that is smaller than the M-Falcon...for what that's worth.

Hey, Lego Star Wars fans! Ever wanted to be a Clone? Well now you can! This is a roleplay, a text-based storytelling game, where you and other players fight and adventure through the star wars world! This is an Rebublic vs. Separatist game, so you can't be a jedi or a sith, just a clone trooper. In this, you are a member of the famed 501st, with Captain Rex as your leader. Here's a list of what you can be: Clone Commander(3): You get to order others around and carry cool gear and stuff! ;) Clone Sharpshooter: Use a really awesome long-range blaster and snipe out the enemy! Clone Pilot: Pilot the various vehicles in the Clone Wars, like the V-19 Torrent! Clone Technician: Fix the broken-down vehicles. A very needed postion. Clone Trooper: Fight for the Rebublic! Well there you go! Have fun! Oh, and this is a literate game, so no chatspeak or lolspeak, or smilies. And please try to spell everything right.
