Product Description It's a fight between General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi! Who will win this fight' This LEGO building set includes General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi and their fighting vehicles. Build and rebuild your favorite Star Wars moments!
Editorial Review In one of those movie scenes that would have never been possible before the rapid improvement of digital imaging quality, veteran Jedi knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by a real actor, takes on General Grievous, a sort of asthmatic android bad guy, who is electronically generated. Additionally, Obi-Wan chases Grievous while riding a huge lumbering electronically generated beast while Grievous tries to get away in an electronically generated space bicycle. Fortunately for us back on Earth, the entire affair has been recreated in the highly tangible world of Lego as 111 pieces show both characters, their preferred transportation, and light sabers. And since it is Lego, you're free to insert pirates, astronauts, or whoever else you have in the big Lego box to make the scenario more interesting. --Charlie Williams

Nice figs, mediocre set January 14, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this set for General Grevious, who was an exclusive figure at the time. You have to love any Star Wars character who has four arms and four lightsabers! What's not to love? His face and cape look great. This was before you could get a Grevious figure in a set with his starfighter (and with a blaster for him to hold as well, although sans cool cape). Now that Grevious is available elsewhere, this set has to stand on its own merits.
So what are those merits? Well, you get an Obi-Wan and his beast, Boga, that he rides through Utapau, chasing down the evil general. Boga works out OK, using a lot of the same pieces as previously seen on the Lego Tattooine dewback. You get a new head, and the body is elongated. The beast looks right, and Obi-Wan can sit right there on top, lightsaber in hand. The only problem with it is that it doesn't have a lot of parts. The price-per-parts ratio for this set is pretty poor compared to other sets, Star Wars or otherwise.
The general's wheelbike was never my favourite Star Wars vehicle. It strikes me that it's not a very practical mode of transportation. As a wheel, it's kind of silly (don't Star Wars vehicles usually hover instead of roll?) and in walking mode...well, why walk if you're a wheel? That aside, it's a fairly decent Lego version of this awkward vehicle. Lego chose to sidestep the problem of creating a donut-shaped wheel by using large clear radar pieces with the wheel details printed on them. This gives the illusion of a large rolling donut, since it appears hollow. The rest of the model is made of technic pieces and what look like Bionicle legs. So, once again, there's not much building going on here, at least in the traditional brick building sense. As one reviewer pointed out, it's tough to rotate the legs into "wheel" mode, so the vehicle both rolls smoothly and looks cool at the same time.
And, let's not forget, the gray lightsaber hilts. You get five lightsabers in this set (hooray!) but due to the high costs of making the old-style silver hilts, these are all gray (boo!). Luckily I had an extra silver one lying around, so at least Obi-Wan can have a silver hilt. Maybe I'll try to find so more for Grevious. How cool would that look, Grevious with four silver saber hilts? Pretty cool.
Not worth it,,, July 2, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
*Sighs* In my opinion, most of the Episode 3 sets haven't been spectacular. This set is one of them.
This set features Obi-Wan and General Grievous with their own vehicles that corresponds with the movie. General Grievious's Wheel Bike is pretty cool, yet it is mainly made out of Technic parts. Its not worth it alone for $[...] so lets move on to Obi-Wan's.
The Boga that comes with it, is well, plain. The head is alright but the body is sorta bleh. Not worth $[...] so lets move onto the figures.
Obi-wan is what you would expect. But he's welcome, we couldn't have the chase without him huh? General Grievous has a nice torso that is pretty useful in making your own designs. But his legs make the body unstable so he usually falls over. The lightsabers are grey but chrome is a little expensive to produce so it's understandable (5 lightsabers with this set).
Overall, I'm disappointed in this set. It was a cool idea but it lacked many things and the price per parts ratio wasn't good (but new things were added like General Grievous). I think the only reason to get this set is for General Grievous. It would have been a lot better with a clone(s) or battledroid(s).
Star Wars Episode III Genreal Grievous Chase is great! June 28, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 10 year old son is the person that received the Star Wars Episode III General Grievous Chase lego toy. He had saved up his allowance to purchase it and we were very pleased with the toy! He was able to follow the directions by himself, it did take quite awhile to put together, but he did it all in one day. He is very pleased with the toy. I was nervous with how expensive it was, but it is a larger toy and it does a few things. It was worth the money and we were very pleased all the way around, including the fact that it arrived before we anticipated it to.
ITS THE BOMB BABY!!!!!!!! April 17, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this Lego set for my brother for Christmas. HE LOVED IT. It wasnt very hard to build it (which is a good thing in some ways). He had a lot of fun building it, and I, Myself sat down and played with it with all of his other lego Star Wars sets, (Clone turbo tank, wookie catamaren, Wookie Attack, Mustafar playset, Space battle (Obi-Wan's and Anakin's Starfighter), Arc fighter, AT-RT, Tri fighter, V-wing, X-wing, B-wing, A-wing.....etc) Sorry about that not to be a braggart. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS TOY!!!!!! ITS THE BOMB

AUTHOR'S HANGOUT STAR WARS EDITION Hey, have any of you seen the Bionicle comics topic "Author's Hangout 5"? It's this really cool topic where you can make your own stories! They are split up into parts like this: Part 1: blablabla. Part 2: blablabla. Part 3: bla... ...and so on. But that is a Bionicle topic only! Then I thought, "Mabye I should make one for Star Wars. JEDI H.Q. Well there is a bounty hunter H.Q. and Clone one too, so there probaly should be a jedi one too. All Jedi members are neutral and won't attack clones or bounty hunters(Although I can't see how you could do that) unless they implicate the fight. Just talk about Star Wars and go on Jedi Missions(The Council will assign you one) and have fun! May The Force Be With Us All!
