Long-awaited by fans and collectors, this B-Wing fighter model is an excellent replica of the spaceship rebel forces used in Return of the Jedi's Battle of Endor during the final defeat of the Death Star II and the Empire. A reissue of a formerly released B-Wing fighter set (7180), this ship is bigger than the original—standing 15 inches tall on the display stand--and has almost 100 more pieces (435 versus 338). Like the vessel in the movie, the fighter has wings that manually open from parallel to perpendicular and a rotating and self-leveling cockpit. Other features of the B-Wing include a hinged canopy on the cockpit and a missile launcher that shoots two missiles. A docking bay, which doubles as a display stand, holds the missiles and a selection of six tools. The set comes with two B-Wing pilot minifigs (Ten Numb and one unnamed pilot). These minifigs have flesh-toned skin instead of the more collectible yellow skin on the earlier Star Wars figures. Purists may also be disappointed that Lego includes decals to adhere to pieces in this set rather than going to the expense of painting designs directly on the bricks. The B-Wing fighter takes anywhere from two to four hours to build with some help from the illustrated instructions.  Lego B-Wing Fighter Review (I couldn't think of a better title! :( December 25, 2008
This is a cool set because of the wings. They aren't on a gear with rubber bands like the Lego ARC-170 starfighter, but instead there are only hinges, so you have to move them yourself. The "display stand" works for a while, but eventually will stop holding it up properly. The missles don't shoot as well as I'd like them to. But oh well. It still is a really good set.

At first glance looks kinda silly. However when you look at it closely it is the most advanced set you can get for $30! With its rotating cockpit and shooting missiles (which i may ad have zippo range) are complex to put together for anyone under 6. Also the little base/stand thing is kind of stupid yet comes with lots of "rare" pieces. I would suggest for ages from 7-15. "he,s not worth anything to me dead."Boba Fett!!!

What can I say about this? Legos have been around since I was a kid. They are still going strong. I grew up with Star Wars. I don't recall this particular ship in action, but my kids love it. I was missing one small piece, but nothing worth going after. The thought process in creating this toy (or any Lego) is amazing. I guess the only educational value for a child is to see how the mechanical parts work. The ship tends to losen up after play, but don't they all? Legos are top quality.

This is a pretty good Lego toy. It was fairly tedious to put together - especially since there was one step skipped in the directions. After much confusion and more examination we finally figured out what was missing but it was a little annoying and took some time. My 4 yr old son loves it so far, except that the launch pad comes apart easily. It is pretty cool - Legos have come a long way.

I bought this for my seven year old grandson for his birthday. He liked it a lot as he is detail minded and likes to put things together. Toy is fairly hard to put together. I would buy it again.
