Product Description The TIE Interceptor is the fastest fighter in the Imperial fleet! Open the cockpit canopy and fold down the instrument panel to put the TIE pilot inside and recreate your favorite battle scenes. Includes 212 LEGO pieces.
Amazon.com Collectors young and old will enjoy building this spacecraft, used by the Empire to defend the Death Star II in Star Wars: Episode VIReturn of the Jedi. This TIE Interceptor completes Lego's TIE collection of models, which consists of a TIE Fighter (used in all the Star Wars movies, a TIE Bomber (also from Return of the Jedi, and Darth Vader's TIE Fighter from the original Star Wars movie. Features of this ship include a hinged canopy on the cockpit and an instrument panel that folds down. The model comes with a TIE pilot minifig, who fits within the cockpit to fly the TIE Interceptor. A quick build, the TIE Interceptor takes about 30 minutes to construct with some help from the illustrated instructions. A Grandfather's Gift December 22, 2008 My grandson enjoys building and playing with the various Lego offerings. Another Lego is on his Christmas list. I have helped him build some in the past which provided a great bonding opportunity.
Star Wars + Legos = Fun! October 1, 2007 As with all legos, they are fragile when asssembled and can be complicated during assembly. There more for the joy of building and looking at afterward. Imagination required for full enjoyment! Star Wars sets are the best.
Get ready to blast off into space August 13, 2007 I got this Lego ship for my 5-1/2 year old son who loves star wars and although he is great at building things this one did require a little help from an adult to put together. It was a bit time consuming but it was fun to put it together with my son. The instructions for building the ship were managable and this toy will definately grow with him. He does fly it around the room but otherwise lets it sit on his dresser for observation. The legos themselves are durable but sometimes the pieces can come apart so he's fairly careful with it and doesn't use it for rough play...it would take too long to put back together.
LEGO TIE FIGHTER Review April 15, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
First of all, this set is NOT ACCURATE TO THE FILM. In Return of the Jedi, which is the first time that this ship appears, it's color scheme is mostly black, with a grey frame. the color scheme on the LEGO version however, is mostly black, with a blue frame. All you've got to do, is replace all of the blue pieces, with grey pieces, and it's pretty accurate. Also, the little red pieces on the window, should not be there, so I took them off. I replaced most of the dark grey pieces with light grey pieces, to match the film. So like I said, not accurate to the film, but pretty darn cool. A lot of people talk about it taking them a long time to build LEGO sets. This set took me about five to seven minutes. Four stars...
Too Fragile for child play March 11, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The detail on this model is excellent and it has all of the features you would expect on a lego model. Unlike other sets this one is very fragile so stick to the age on the box, your younger child will break it apart with every touch. And that really is my only gripe, it is just not a play toy, this is more of a display item so keep that in mind when making your purchase. The lego's from this model have since been incorporated into the general pile becaue the Intercepter was never fun for my son to play with.
